Each year, Cinemalaya gives us a look at the best shorts from around the campuses of Manila. Hold on to your seats, because it’s the Best of Ateneo Shorts!
Here’s a look:
Student films are usually equated with poor production values, but these days we’re getting further and further away from that stigma. From Accountants to serial killers, Insomnia to time travel, this year’s Ateneo shorts promise themes of identity, memory, acceptance and hard goodbyes. It’s a diverse mix of shorts that has something for everyone.
The shorts are: Black Widow, Slowing Down Time and Harana by Chyna Lo, The Accountant and Bobby’s Uncommon Sleping Methods by Melanie Lim, The Last Day by Gio Puyat, Kung Papaano Ako Nagpumiglas Makalaya At Pilit Na Di Na Lumuha Pa by Gael Gatbonton, Back in 2007 by Charlie Coralejo, Ramadan by Din Reyes, Running Joke by Gabby Quimel, Sabay Kung Gumuho Ang Lahat by Joseph Teoxon, Execution by Carlo Chong and Jopy Arnaldo’s How It Was and How I Remember and The Gallery.
