Paalam na Cinemalaya: Closing Films (Rakenrol, Zombadings)

With this year’s Cinemalaya coming to a close, we break out the boxes of tissue as the festival bids farewell with the premiere of Quark Henares’ Rakenrol and Jade Castro’s Zombadings 1: Patayin Sa Shokot si Remington!

The trailers and details after the jump!

RAKENROL

Ostensibly a coming age of story about a boy and his band, but also a tribute to a period of music in many people’s lives.  Quark Henares and Diego Castillo’s Rakenrol closes Cinemalaya with this heartfelt sendup.  A Rakenrol concert will be held at the harbor square open grounds concurrent with the movie’s showing.

Catch the film tonight (July 23, 2011) at the CCP Main Theatre at 9:00 p.m.

ZOMBADINGS 1: Patayin Sa Shokot si Remington!

Jade Castro’s first part of zombie movie madness.  A young boy tries to work out his newfound feelings between his best friend and the girl he already loves becomes a tough decision to make while a psycho gay killer is on the loose.  Oh yeah, and titular zombies also appear.

Catch the film tonight (July 23, 2011) at the CCP Main Theatre at 11:45 p.m.
