Lagarista.com liked by Todd Brown, Existence of Site Validated

In a surprising turn of events, I found myself face to face with Todd Brown, founder of Twitch Film. I could stop right here and do eights on the floor, but now that one of the best film websites out there has their eyes on us, well, gauntlet thrown.
Let’s see how we stack up!
Outspoken Film Director Erik Matti and all around nice guy shot me a text inviting me for a chance to have a few drinks with Todd Brown, the founder of Twitch Film, a site that features news and reviews of international, independent and cult films. They’ve been championing Filipino Film for a while with features on films old and new and Lagarista.com contributor Oggs Cruz regularly writing for them. So of course I said yes.
In a small gatheing that also had veteran directors Toppel Lee, Rico Ilarde and Ato Bautista (as well as Wolfgang frontman Basti Artadi) in attendance, the shit was shot not as professionals, but simply as fans of the medium.
Mr. Brown said he liked the site and what it was doing. I really couldn’t think of anything to say so I just went with the exact same thing he said. After the initial awkwardness, I began to talk shop with him, just to see how Lagarista stocks up against Twitch:

As you can see, despite being evenly matched Twitch just barely manages to edge us out.
In all seriousness though, it was great to talk to someone with experience in the game we’re playing who shares the same passion for the medium as any of us do.
Big ups to Todd Brown and Erik Matti, for a lovely night was had by all.
