Hit the jump for movies for the Releases of the Week!
MY NEIGHBOR’S WIFE
2 couples find their marriages on the rocks. Dennis Trillo is married to Lovi Poe while Jake Cuenca is married to Carla Abellana. When one mistake finds the couples trading spouses their lives spiral into a maelstrom of betrayal.
SPY KIDS: ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD
Don’t call it a reboot! When twins Rebecca and Cecil found out their mom (Jessic Alba) is a Spy for OSS and incidentally is in danger, they put aside their differences to save their mom, beat the badguy (Jeremy Piven) and save the world. Also, Joel McHale is their dad. All this in 4-D, which is better than 3 D because it’s a higher number and it allows you to smell stuff apparently.
DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK
Strange things begin happening when a family moves into an old-timey mansion. As the Family’s withdrawn daughter starts to question all these occurences, the nature of the evil that surrounds them is slowly revealed. Hint: It’s Goblins. (And no, it’s not a fucking spoiler, they’re in the trailer.) Starring Guy Pearce and Katie Holmes. Written by Guillermo del Toro which he adapted from, get this, an ABC Movie of the Week Special.
JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN
Rowan Atkinson returns as Britain’s most unorthodox spy. Johnny English is called back into service when MI-7 uncovers a plot against the Chinese premiere’s life. Using every trick in the book and well timed visual gags, English must stop the plot at all costs. Also starring Rosamund Pike, Gillian Anderson and that guy who hit on Leonidas’s wife in 300.
IKAW ANG PAG-IBIG
Ina Feleo is Vangie, an independent young woman whose busy yet carefree career in advertising overshadows the rest of her life. She has a son (Yogo Singh) with an equally career driven doctor (Jomari Yllana), an overbearing religious mother (Shamaine Centenera) and her elder brother (Marvin Agustin), a priest. When her brother is diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia her already dysfunctional family becomes even more dysfunctional as they try to cope with her brother’s sickness and each other. Also starring Nonie Buencamino and Eddie Garcia. Directed by Marilou Diaz-Abaya.
